Our Cloth Diapering Make-Over :)

As my then almost two-year-old potty trained, I experienced a sense of relief and a sense of sadness. Not only was my little boy growing up, but our beloved, adorable cloth diapers would no longer be needed. I'm sure some of you can relate to what I am referring to here. :) So, you can probably imagine the excitement that came over me when my husband and I found out that we were expecting #3 - and not too long after our son had turned 2!

Not only was I more than ready to cloth diaper from the get-go, with all of the itty-bitty newborn fluff, but I also just figured we would mostly stick to the same brands and types of cloth diapers we had used on our son. Well, cloth diapering from the get-go was a new and exciting experience for us, since we hadn't done this with our son. It was fun trying out different types of newborn cloth diapers and discovering what worked best for our new little bundle, but what came as a huge surprise to me was what type of diaper(s) I ended up loving on him.

Yes, I had a discovered a love for prefolds/inserts (think Applecheeks inserts tri-folded, Thirsties Duo Hemp prefolds) paired with covers. When I was expecting to be drawn to my usual love for poskets, I was amazed at how many times I would go out of my way to do another load of diaper laundry just to make sure I had plenty of prefolds/inserts & covers.

Our little guy, well, not so little at nearly 20 lbs at just 6 months old! - is still sporting much of the same diapers as when he was itty-bitty. We've found a HUGE love for BestBottom diapers and shells too! They are truly adorable, we love the double gussets, wipeable inner, and love how the inserts snap-in rather than just laying in. We are also enjoying Gro-Via shells either with Gro-Via soaker pads or a tri-folded AppleCheeks, Thirsties, or Flip insert. So, rather than a ton of pocket diapers with a few randoms here and there, we've turned into a family that loves more of an All-In-Two system. We enjoy the flexibility of having many insert options and several different adorable patterned and colored shells/covers to choose from.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good variety too. So, we do have a few pockets, All-In-Ones and fitteds in our stash too! :)

Hello, hello! Wow! I can't believe how long its been since I gave our blog some attention. But I guess that is how things go when you're carrying your third baby and then have three little ones under the age of 5 - so please forgive me. :)

I am really going to attempt to post upcoming sales and announcements directly to our blog in advance, so please be sure you are following along. I would also love to hear from all of you and what types of information you would like to see posted here - washing routines, newborn diapering, my personal experience with specific diapers, etc. Whatever it may be please share.

One thing I will say, which may lead to my next post, is I am amazed at how different my approach to cloth diapering is this time around as opposed to my last. I look forward to sharing more.... :)
